Fundraising Policy Warley Woods Community Trust (WWCT) is a registered charity (1092754) and raises funds for its work from the public in a variety of ways including soliciting memberships, regular donations, specific appeals, legacies, events, raffles and lotteries. It submits grant applications to grant awarding bodies. WWCT aims at all times to be open, honest, respectful, fair and to operate in a legal way that meets not only the law, but also fundraising regulation and best practice, including the Code of Fundraising Practice. Everyone who is involved in fundraising at Warley Woods has a responsibility to be aware of and comply with the ethical issues and procedures in this policy. Supporters have a right to expect us to provide clear, truthful information on our work, including reporting on how we spend the funding we are given and managing donors' information responsibly. We will not place any undue pressure on individuals to donate, neither solicit nor accept donations from anyone whom we know or think may not have the capacity to make their own decisions. We will always be honest about what we can achieve when asking for funds, submit realistic budgets, use the funds for the purpose intended and ensure that we provide any reports required on time. We will respect the privacy and contact preferences of our donors. We will respond promptly to requests to cease contact or to complaints and act to address their causes. We will respect the range of relationships that individuals have with us and only send fundraising asks that relate to their registered interests unless they have signed up to our generic news emails which may, amongst other information, include a fundraising ask. If we raise more funds than needed for a particular appeal for physical work then donations from the public will be used to support the general maintenance of Warley Woods and this will be made clear in fundraising literature. If we raise more funds than needed in grants for a restricted purpose then we will offer to return the funds. Should a donor ask for their donation to be returned, this request will be complied with. Should any person wish to raise a concern or make a complaint about fundraising practice, then they can do this through either WWCT’s complaints procedure or whistleblowing procedure.
